Thompson Private First Class Smith, the tenth and last soldier to die from 2-7 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, is remembered last June in a soccer field in downtown Baghdad. Smith was killed by an explosion that destroyed the vehicle in which he was riding.
